Areas of Emphasis

I offer individual and family therapy with an emphasis in the following experiences:

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Neurodivergence (e.g. autism, ADHD)

  • Family and peer relationships

  • LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized
    (and beautiful) identities

  • Immigration-related stress

  • School challenges

  • Life transitions

I strive to be an anchoring presence for my clients while remaining flexible and creative. Depending on what you’re needing, our sessions can toggle between problem-solving, emotional processing, exploring the impact of sociocultural forces, accessing playfulness, and finding new language for old problems. With teen clients our work can look like engaging in your favorite activities and practicing skills you can use throughout the week. I value transparency and collaboration to ensure you’re getting what you need from therapy.

My approach is rooted in psychodynamic, narrative, and family systems therapy.

Parent Coaching and Support

When our children are struggling, it can often be hard to know how to guide them. In addition to my work as an individual and family therapist, I support parents who are feeling confused, frustrated, or overwhelmed. Parent coaching can help parents to:

1) better understand the root cause of their child’s struggles,

2) identify and manage their own triggers as parents, and

3) transform negative interaction cycles into ones that strengthen the parent-child relationship and improve the child’s well being.

My approach to parent coaching is strength-based and focuses on the parent-child relationship as the catalyst for change. This work is typically short-term (3-6 months) and proceeds through three phases: Assessment, Change, and Integration. After each session, I send parents a summary of what we talked about and recommendations for things to practice. My ultimate goal is to help make parenting feel more rewarding, so I make sure we celebrate wins big and small along the way!
